Southern Smothered Pork Chops with Onion Gravy

1. Season the pork chops generously with salt and black pepper on both sides. Dredge each chop in flour, shaking off any excess.
2. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove the chops from the skillet and set them aside on a plate.
3. In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and sauté for about 5 minutes, until they are softened and beginning to caramelize.
4. Lower the heat to medium and add the chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
5. Return the pork chops to the skillet, nestling them into the onion gravy. Cover and simmer on low heat for 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the pork chops to become tender.
6. Serve the pork chops hot, generously spooning the onion gravy over the top, and garnish with chopped parsley.
